Methodology & Verification Standards
Every Post-Mortem and Vendor Move record on this site carries a verification-level or event-sourcing label. This page defines what each label means, what we will not do, and how any sponsored content is disclosed.
§ 71 — Verification-level definitions
- First-hand interview
- The account comes directly from someone who worked on the deployment — a planning director, IT lead, or consultant we interviewed. We note their role and, where they've agreed to be named, their name and employer.
- Earnings-call disclosure
- The outcome was disclosed by a public company in an earnings call, investor letter, or SEC filing. We cite the filing or transcript directly.
- Litigation record
- The account is drawn from court filings, settlement disclosures, or other legal records that name the deployment and its outcome.
- Press-corroborated
- The account is independently reported by trade press or news outlets not affiliated with the vendor or customer, with the outcome corroborated across at least one independent source.
§ 72 — Editorial independence
We do not publish composite or synthesized "typical" outcomes as real accounts. If we cannot verify a specific, named-or-clearly-identified deployment for a given vendor and function, we publish nothing for that pair rather than filling the gap with a plausible-sounding placeholder.
If ChainSignal has a commercial relationship with a vendor covered on this site — sponsorship, advertising, or a paid partnership — that relationship is disclosed on every piece of content it touches, at the item level, not buried in a general disclosure page.
§ 73 — Sponsored-content labeling policy
Any sponsored or vendor-affiliated content is labeled directly on the item — in its header, before any claim is made — using the words "Sponsored" or "Vendor-affiliated" rather than a vague disclosure elsewhere. As of this writing, ChainSignal carries no sponsored content; if that changes, this page and every affected item will be updated together.
